Lookin' good at Special Olympics
Jonny, Jesse and Daniel have been preparing all spring for the Speical Olympics, Equestrian Competition (we live in horse country).
Last Sunday was the big event. It was really exciting to see all the riders, including some who had to be lifted from wheelchairs onto huge horses.
My camera battery only lasted long enough for shots of Daniel. In addition to Down syndrome, Daniel has some other as-yet-undiagnosed disability (we're in process) which makes him hyperactive and stressed out all the time. But look at how calm, cool, and collected he is on a pony! You can bet we'll be getting him one of his own as soon as we can save up for one!

That is great! I don't blame you for using up the rest of the roll on him. Maybe you could set up a tip jar on your web site for a pony for Daniel. :-)

Great pics! I would have loved to have been there to see the kids ride. Animals can have a great effect on people.

Julana --
well, I tried to set up a tip jar - thanks for the idea! - but after three hours and no results, I've given up, hoping my tech person will intervene.

I am so glad I stumbled across this blog. Our 4th child has downs syndrome and he looks remarkably like your sweet Daniel (although younger--he's almost 4. He's very blond. I can't tell the color of Daniel's hair because of the helmet...
Thanks for sharing the pictures.
