A Young Hero

Remember the 10-year-old boy who was arrested, handcuffed and taken to jail for trying to bring a glass of water to Terri Schiavo as she lay dying from dehydration?

Joshua Heldreth appeared in court August 26, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to 25 days of community service and ordered to write a letter of apology for what he had done.

Here is what he wrote, in his own 10-year-old writing.

What a confusing world this is for children! Are we raising our kids to read and memorize and talk about God's word, only to have them punished for doing it?

Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25:34-40

I think this is a story worth telling our children.

wow...my heart is so heavy. I can't even find the right words. Thank you God for giving us the words to pray when we are speechless.

Basically nothing noteworthy happening right now, but eh. Today was a complete loss. I haven't been up to much recently. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning.
