Anything else they'd like to know?

Gosh, aren't you glad to know our federal government is spending tax dollars to track citizen sex?
(not for the faint of heart)

Wow, this report is getting so much press. I would like to point something out. The primary purpose of the National Survey of Family Growth is to track just that, family growth. Sex is how family growth happens, but there is really much much more to this survey than what has been recieving press coverage.

How do I know this? Well, my husband is the lead programmer for the survey... meaning he programmed the survey (a very large & complex one) for laptops to be taken into the field by interviewers. I will not deny there is a certain amount of "waste" any time our government sets out to do something, but as someone who does have background in survey research, I do believe that this survey gathers useful information. Honestly, I'm a bit shocked that this report came out of the survey, since I was more aware of the focus on family growth.
