Got Legos?

I don't know how you feel about Legos, but just in case you are having a hard time keeping a hearty supply, this Australian dude has decided to liquidate his 25 year old collection -

WHICH WEIGHS IN AT 476 POUNDS!!!!

Check it out here at ebay. The starting bid was 9, 000 Australian dollars (6,811.20 U.S), but no one bit.

If you're lucky, maybe he'll relist them.

Love,

Ughhh...nooooo! I ALREADY trip over what seems to be that many legos in our house!

I believe our collection is under 30 lbs. We currently keep it in a plastic set of drawers, with each drawer being completely full. However, we used to keep the lot in a very large rubbermaid tub.

There is a funny story to go along with that. One day the boys had friends over and decided to play legos. They started digging through the bin and began to complain about the smell. After a little bit of that they decided not to play at all, since it smelled so bad.

I went over to investigate and after digging deep, discovered an unidentified liquid in the bottom of the bin. The smell and color along with recent ongoings in our house gave its identity away.

At the time, one of our boys was sleepwalking fairly regularly. Usually an hour or two after falling asleep, he would wake up and wander around the house looking for a place to go to the bathroom. Many times we caught him dropping his shorts in the family room or walking back toward our bedroom. His sleeping mind apparently mistook the lego bin for something porcelain.

It took me hours to clean the legos and the kids still wouldn't play with them for a few weeks. They are definintely a durable toy though...

Legos, a great invention for kids, horrible for parents. I actually think Legos multiply in my house. When ever we think we have them cleaned up we always find more. There's a conspiracy here.

You all know that delicious sound a boy's hand makes digging deep through a bin of Legos.... the sound of Possibilities...
