Two mommies
I mentioned that Justin's birth parents were here from Taiwan for a visit last week. Justin was actually born here in the States while they were visiting, and their decision to leave him here with an American family was based on love and the knowledge that he would have the greatest opportunity to meet his potential here.
(Drum roll, please, as I place my hand over my heart and salute my country. I can't believe I was nce of the hate-America crowd. I think a country can be judged by how it treats its disabled citizens, and I doubt if anyone can point to a country which does this better than ours.)
Justin's birth parents also enjoy going to see him at school so they can see that their sacrifice is being paid off in his opportunities for education and inclusion.
Here is a picture of the two moms, with our girls -

Unfortunately Justin had already left before I realized that his birth family wouldn't be coming back to our house after visiting his school. It's become a little more difficult to understand their English since they've been back to Taiwan for 3 years. I felt embarassed to keep saying, "Excuse me?" and somewhere along the line I misunderstood and thought thought we had another afternoon and evening to take pictures. I would like to have had this one with Justin in it.

Beautiful picture, Barbara. Justin is a blessed boy, to have had two mothers who loved him so much.
