How I spent Christmas Eve

Since big families arouse so much curiosity, I thought you might get a kick out of seeing what it looks like to make enchiladas for our crowd:

Note the humongous skillet, which has been my faithful companion for years and years! And my retro I Love Lucy apron - a recent addition and very practical. Made of oilcloth to wipe clean.

Pictures by my hubby Tripp.

Nice to see someone else makes enchiladas for Christmas. I always make them for Christmas dinner. People here in Missiouri think it's a "California thing" but really we are just tired of turkey! Wish I had the counterspace you do though. :) Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

For some reason, I told my son today I know a woman with twelve kids. He couldn't imagine how a mom could take care of that many kids. He was very impressed. So am I, especially after seeing that picture!

My husband who loves enchiladas saw your feast and said, "Wow, that's a lot of enchiladas!" I think he might be wishing he had some, too. :D First thing I noticed was your new apron. Too cute!

Your family traditions are inspiring. I think it is time for my family to start something new to preserve as a tradition. I am also curious about when you ever find time to write.

P.S. I would love to have a nice large surface like this to prepare our meals on.

Yowzer, you got your apron! I love it! I'm just making a quickstop by your site, I have vacation withdrawals while staying in a computer-free house, and not home for many days YET.
