Recently I mentioned Things We Said Today - the blog that got me thinking about starting the Big Jar Mayonnaise Mamas - a group dedicated to proving that women who shop at Costco and buy big jars of mayonnaise because they didn't abort their babies are not to be scoffed at by elitist women whose lifestyle matters so much that they kill two of their unborn triplets.
I don't know whether it's because I lived for 8 years in San Francisco myself (and 22 in Marin County) before returning to Virginia, but Monika's blog - which she just started last November - usually has something of interest to me. Check out Witnesses on Brokeback Mountain, Teaching Algebra When I Didn’t Know It, and A Cringing Lack of Self-Esteem to get an idea of the well-rounded wit and humor you can expect.
If you have time between loads of laundry and wiping the peanut butter off the back of the chairs, do check her out. I really think blogs - writing and reading thme - are keeping our creative juices flowing and giving more ooomph to our mothering!
