    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Blogging Update

With deadlines looming - a 2000 word article today and a 45,000 word book 2/1 - I have to discipline myself to stay away from my blog during the day. Since Sanctity of Life Sunday and the Blog4Life conference are coming up, I will post some articles I've published previously on the subject of Roe v Wade.

Also, if any readers have questions to throw out there, I will do so and other readers can answer.

I ususally answer all my email, but it is starting to back up - please be patient with me as I work through the next couple weeks.

Once I meet my deadlines, I will be back to pick up the ongoing themes: Montessori in the home, Family-Friendly art, and others. Remember, you can learn a lot about applying Montessori prinicples in the home and picking worthwhile books for children by clicking on the categories under Barbara's Picks on the left sidebar.

And big birthday surprises for me! Thanks to Melissa, who posted a review of The Mommy Manua yesterday at amazon. And thanks a bunch to someone who's become a fast friend this year: Amy who posted a review of Lord, Please Meet Me in the Laundry Room at Amy's Humble Musings and amazon as well. Amy is not only a terrific mother and source of inspiration but fun and witty too. Her kind words mean a lot to me.

Love,

Old or new, I enjoy them all! I have been learning that I am at least a partly Montessori Mom myself, although I didn't know it. Thanks for your kind comments -

Yea for Amy Scott! I know her through momys. I am looking forward to reading your book since I have read this review. I'm going to get it this week! Thanks for your leadership for biblical motherhood.
