Pro-Life Leftists
You might be surprised to learn that the early feminists were anti-abortion! And that from the beginning, there has been a little corner of the Left Wing that has remained ProLife. They argue that the Democratic Party has always stood up for those who cannot defend themselves, the little guy - so why not for unborn babies, the most defenseless of all?
Martin Luther King was pro-life. Isn't that a righteous thought? And some conservative black thinkers see that abortion has worked against the black community as they have a disproportionately high rate of black babies killed before they are born.
Just some thoughts off the top of my head as I sip my coffee before 6AM on Saturday morning. I'm leaving in 20 minutes to drive Sophia to her second round of auditions for Governors School - an opportunity for her to study theater in more depth this summer.
