Maddy's biopsy results- still waiting
The dermatologist left a message for me Friday on my cell phone that Maddy's biopsy results were back and we needed to talk. I didn't hear it 'til Saturday. Great.
Wait all weekend, call first thing this morning. She doesn't come in on Monday. The receptionist can't interpret the results, just knows there will be a referral to a plastic surgeon. I ask her to try to have the doctor call me from home.
Maddy's been nervous about this and she's sitting nearby waiting for the results, her foot tapping furiously. I get off the phone and tell her we'll have to be patient. Tears spring to her eyes.
I say, "Are you scared?"
She says, "Well, it's always the good people who die young. And, well...I'm a good person."
"Well, you're not that good!" I say - trying to reassure her. Laughter and tears at the same time. Sitting on pins and needles 'til tomorrow. I'm sure it's just removing this very large mole on her foot from which the biopsy was drawn, but still. . . .
It seems like a lot to handle - and fast on the heels of the tonsils, too.

Barbara,
Having just been through our own scare with Evan, believe me when I say we are praying for you all! Don't you wish doctor's would think before they leave messages like that though?! I'll be praying for you & Maddy to have peace today.

My heart goes out to you as you wait. I love that the two of you can find a way to laugh even as the tears flow. My prayers are with your family.

It's always something. You probably get more than your share, with such a big family. I'll pray for Maddie, too.

Maddy:
"Even though I walk through the valley of "biopsy and surgeons" I fear no evil for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me" May you feel His peace today.

I'm praying for peace and comfort for all of you, esp. Maddy, during this waiting period!! Not knowing is always harder than just knowing something and moving on with it. I hope it is benign! Will be watching for updates...
