Special Date

IMG_1482.JPG

Tripp took Sophia out on a "date" tonight - dinner and a movie. He remembered he had taken Jasmine out on her first date when she was 13 and somehow let all this time go by before getting around to it with Sophia.

He even came to the front door and rang the bell and waited for her. The point is to take his little girl out and treat her the way she should expect a guy to treat her. She just turned 16, so this is actually her first date. And we have a rule that anyone who wants to take her out needs to talk to her dad first. I think she actually feels pretty good about it.

Love,

One of our rules is that when our children go on their first date, it will be a double date with their mom and dad. Two reasons: our children will see how they are to be treated on a date (what is acceptable and what should be expected) and it will make them very choosy with whom they want to begin their dating (which will not be until they are at least 16 years old). They are being told this now, even though they are years off from these important events!

I love that Tripp is making this such a special time in your children's lives.
