This will move you
Please go here to see a beautiful commercial about our troops. If I am ever in an airport when some return, I intend to do the same!

That happened to my husband once in an airport when he was coming home from Iraq for RandR. It touched all the troops deeply.
He didn't meet our son for the first time until he was 6 weeks old. I had taken him with me to pick my husband up from the airport and it was pretty obvious to the crowd at the airport that it was the first time he was meeting his son. Nobody clapped then but there were some strangers crying and my husband had a lot of people come up to him to shake his hand. He was one of the first groups to be deployed to iraq and it wasn't fun at all. Even though he wasn't infantry he saw a lot of death and his living conditions were about the poorest imaginable.
It meant a lot to him that people in the states were appreciative.
He got out the following year but his new civilian job deploys to war zones. thankfully though he gets well compensated and it is only for 3months at a time. Plus his living conditions are much much better.

I just talked to my son to say good-bye this evening as he prepares to fly out tomorrow morning - beginning his year of deployment to Iraq. His unit has a website - www.tanboots.com - and Keith has his own photo blog - www.drmfreek.com/iraq
The internet will make it easier, but we'll all be glad for his return.
Thanks for posting the video, Barb.

Thanks to all of you whose loved ones are serving. "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." May they all return safely!

Thanks for sharing, Barbara, even if I'm sitting here blubbering now.
Two of my brothers are currently serving in the military, and the younger of the two, who is 19, is leaving for Iraq in three weeks.
That was a beautiful commercial.

Thanks Barbara,
I watched it on my husband's computer which currently has no sound (bad driver, not him, on the computer) anyway, didn't matter, I got chills. Wish they all knew how much their service was appreciated!

Not too give too much support for Budweiser (because of MADD) BUT, I was just able to google Super Bowl commercials and thoroughly enjoyed last night's Baby Clydesdale commercial. Kind of a MommyLife/ Montesorri theme, if you think about it : )

Amazing!! That gave me goosebumps! My husband served in the military for 20 years so I have to show him that!
Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your blog. I'll return often.
