    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool
  • A Chair for My Mother
    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Free concert tonight

For any readers who are also my neighbors in Loudoun County, Virginia:

The Liberty Chamber Singers - of which my son Ben is a member - are rolling into town tonight in their tourbus. Their first stop is a concert tonight at Blue Ridge Bible Church in Purcellville at 7:30. Tomorrow they leave bright and early for New York, where they will be singing at Carnegie Hall. (Can you hear the proud mama in my voice?)

This is a great opportunity to be entertained and uplifted by some of the best voices in the country! We're not talking American Idol here, but people who took their raw talent somewhere that could give them the training that would make them pros at whatever they eventually decide to do with the gift God gave them.

The Curtis family will be there and I hope some of you will be there too. If you come and we haven't met, come say hi. I'll be the one in sunglasses because I had some eye treatments that have left my eyes a little sensitive.

All the better for shutting them and being bathed in some truly wonderful music.

Love,

I would love to go just so I could meet you! Unfortunately, I already agreed to stay home with the kids so my husband could go see a movie at our church(The Falls Church) on child soldiers in Uganda. It's called "The Invisible Children" and it's a documentary created by three American Christian students. I have not seen it but I hear it is very moving. I hope your family has a wonderful time at the concert and I look forward to another opportunity to meet the Curtis family! :-)
