Mothers Day Gifts

Over the years, I've collected pictures of mothers with children, framed them inexpensively (thank God for Target!), and grouped them like this:

These two groups frame the door to the playroom off my office and I just have to turn my head slightly to the left to be uplifted by them.

In case you're short on ideas for Mothers Day presents, browse the Mothers Day prints at AllPosters. I have bought many reproductions there for myself and as gifts. If you can afford it, you can even have them matted, framed, or laminated (much better quality lamination than Kinko's) or - Big Splurge - brought to life on canvas to look like an original.

You can see the AllPosters logo on my bottom left sidebar. I am an affiliate, which means I receive a very small percentage of any purchases made there after clicking through my site. Same with Amazon - click through the search box on the left sidebar and any purchases you make will help support the upkeep of this website.

Unlike some simpler blogs, a blog with this much traffic actually costs money to run. I have signed up with Amazon and AllPosters to try to offset the cost to my family. Did you know you can buy practically everything from Amazon? Huggies, onesies, measuring cups, dish towels, cleaning products, vacuums, front loader washers and dryers - and oh yes, books!

And what I love about buying things on line is that I save time and money. The time is obvious. The money I save not only on gas, but on all the stuff I never planned on buying when I go into someplace like Target (which you can access through Amazon also).

Some of my readers have caught on to this and are buying household items at low prices through Amazon. I really appreciate this. The small percentage I get from each of these shopping trips is adding up to about half of the monthly cost of my site now. Thank you so much!

Okay, this started with ideas for Mothers Day and has segued into a pitch for supporting this site - plus a little touch of frugal living (staying out of stores :) I guess I'm like all moms - everything is somehow connected. And I still have a few more things to say this morning!

Love,

I notice you have several framed pictures by Mary Cassat. I love her portraits of mothers and children, and you've got several of my favorites. Where did you find them?
