Vasectomy reversals

Someone asked in a previous comment what I thought of vasectomy reversals.

I know three couples that had vasectomy reversals. One couple had five children and has in the six years since had three more. Another couple had six children and when I last heard had had two more. The third couple had four children before reversal and when I last heard from them, they were expecting another.

I don't know of any unsuccessful reversals.

But I thought readers might have some input here too.

Love,

We had a reversal over 4 years ago (more than 10 years after the vasectomy) and have had no subsequent pregnancies. There are at least 3 other couples in our circle who have also had reversals and no pregnancies (2 of them are adopting).

While I would never change the fact that we had the reversal, my husband & I STRONGLY urge other couples not to have a vasectomy in the first place.

My husband had a reversal 3 years ago, and we are expecting our second reversal miracle. But I know many couples who've done vas reversals or tubal reversals without success. None of them would trade their experiences for the world, except of course if we didn't have to go through the pain, but we all know the pain is what brings us closer to Christ. I strongly urge people not to permanantly sterilize themselves, it is so much harder to undo than birthcontrol, and no one can know what God will convict them of in the future, or what changes will happen.
