Bronzing baby shoes

Does anyone still do this? It was a kind of old-fashioned custom 12 years ago when I did these:

These are Jonny's shoes. He's now 14 and about a size 8 shoe. Looking at these makes me feel all mushy inside.

These were a pair of red clogs that Sophia wore and wore until they were all worn out. Sophia never walked, but flitted everywhere. Even in her red clogs.

I am so glad I have these. Just out of curiosity I Googled to find out if there are still places to have baby shoes bronzed. Sure enough, the same company who did the Curtis kids' shoes so long ago is still going strong: American Bronzing Company.

Love,

Still a winner! I'm glad to see this "classic" memorabilia is still going strong. I have a single bronze baby shoe from my own childhood which my mother made a million years ago. I love the bronze clogs... now that is NEW!

Wow. Quaint! Flash memory from my childhood, a neighbor had bronze baby shoes on top of her TV and that's the last time I saw a pair. When my son was born, also 12 years ago, the ob had a single ceramic shoe inscribed with his name, wt., etc. and mailed to me. It was broken LONG ago, but I've kept the pieces.

I love Sophia's clogs! I have kept my children's RED shoes...mary janes, tennies. Even my own red shoes. There are always red shoes in our house. The intention is to do a frieze along the ceiling with them. Along with the stenciled lyrics to a favorite Bob Dylan song.
