Freedom from feeling judged
In many ways, a blog is like a family. Lots of discussions, some misunderstanding now and then - even people stomping off to their bedrooms - and hopefully later deciding to come back in and talk again :)
Just as in families, there are opportunities for growth and change. And everyone has a chance to become a better listener and a better communicator. These are really good things for us. Life isn't always smooth and easy - there are lots of bumps in the road, wherever we go.
Okay, that sound pretty generic and maybe hokey. But since we've had some discussion here of how much care people should be required to take of each other's feelings, I thought I'd pass along this great article by Spunky: Stop Judging Me!.
Spunky's terrific! And my friendship with her and with other women bloggers who are not in lockstep on every issue brings me a lot of satisfaction. We must allow each other the freedom to talk about the things we are passionate about without thinking that there is a subtext of "I'm better than you because I think this (or do this, or have this)."
It's a richer world because we are not the same. God has a different plan and call for each of us to follow. Let's trust each other to talk about the things we are excited about without taking it personally. Really. I think we can do this!
