Who subscribed first?

I would like to thank all of you who subscribe to MommyLife, either through RSS feed (which remains a mystery to me) or Bloglines (which you can access from my bottom right sidebar). Writers need readers. And you all are important to me.

With that in mind, I thought I'd do a little book give-away. Tell me what date you started subscribing. The five longest term will each win a choice of my books. Leave a comment by Sunday night and I'll formally announce the winners Monday morning.

I've also asked my singer/artist/son Ben to make me a logo, but if any of you are inspired or would like to try your hand at it, let me know.

Love,

Huh...I wish I could remember. :) I think I started reading last summer when my son was just a few months old. All that time nursing meant I had time to read blogs!

A quick note about subscriptions - I just found feeblitz a few weeks ago. It sends you e-mail w/excerpts from your favorite blogs. I tried other ways to sub to blogs, but none of them stuck until feedblitz.

So, officially I subscribed to mommylife a few weeks ago, but I've been reading faithfully since April 19,2005 - the day I started my blog, partially because I liked yours so much. (Contest entry optional, more an FYI thing.)

Looking forward to seeing Ben's creation.

I know it won't win any contests, but I thought I'd tell you anyway. I think I subscribed 4-5 months ago (when I started using Bloglines), but I've been reading you for just over a year. You were one of the very first blogs I started reading and were largely responsible for inspiring me to start my own.

As for the logo, if I feel creative I might give it a go. I'm trying to teach myself Photoshop and am always looking for an excuse to try my hand at it!

I added you as a bookmark (and have been reading your blog ever since) on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 12:10:58 PM. But I don't know if that counts since it wasn't through bloglines or RSS. I didn't figure out that fun stuff until October, apparently. All of my RSS feeds were created no earlier than October 21, 2005, and yours, specifically, was started at 10:34:49 PM that day. It's amazing to be able to find some of the bits of information hiding in my computer. I need to do some house keeping in there.

Is there something on Bloglines that would tell me when I subscribed? If not, I have no idea, but I may have been one of the first or oldest or something.

OOOH, I found it: subscribed since December 11, 2005. I've been reading for longer that that, but I think that's about the time I discovered Bloglines.

I've been subscribed through bloglines since March of 2005. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I remember it was then because my best friend introduced me to bloglines when I visited her in Minnesota. I've been reading Mommy Life for longer but have only been a subscriber since 3/05.

Wait a sec, it was slightly later then that. I got mixed up on the time. I know I started reading as Marla was having her writing contest for "intellectuelle." Barbara, do you remember when that was? I can't figure out how to find the exact date on bloglines. Sherry, can you share how you figured it out?

My bloglines subscription began on May 25, 2005. I know I've been reading longer. I have a comment from you on my old blog Stand Up and Walk from May 5, 2005. How long I'd been reading at that point, I cannot say!

ok, what is "subscribed"? i have had you bookmarked for awhile, i'm not sure i can remember exactly when that was. around ayear ago, when i had my "brea through" moment after reading an entry you had written in chicken soup for the soul. i was at the end of my rope and it gave me much needed encouragement after a move overseas and feeling very alone. i immediately came downstairs and googled you to find mommy life and emailed you right then thanking you for your writing and explaining how it had made such a difference for me already. (heh, the transformation had just began though lol) then i went on to find out about choosing home through your blogs, was active there for awhile...anyway, what exactly is subscribing? how do you do this? would i have done this and not known it? *scratches* head...about when i first started, i dunno, maybe a year ago? we have been here in england 1 1/2 years now and it was withint he first 6 months or so when i read your entry in chicken soup for the soul...hmmmmm

Okay, I'm going to say May of 2005. Marla's contest was over in June, but I know I subscribed before that.

I was reading from early on, but I only discovered Bloglines and subscribed since January 30, 2006 (likemerchantships). And I'm proud to say I learn something every time I visit!

Well I still haven't figured out bloglines or RSS feeds but my favorites/bookmark "properties" gives this date Monday, October 24, 2005, 12:41:46 AM. I found you through likemerchanthships.
Whether that makes me a content winner or not, I'm just glad to have been reading you all along Barbara. You are an inspiration to me and even though I don't always agree with your perspective I sure enjoy the thoughtfulness and true love you put into your writing and sharing. Thank you!
