Hey, look at this!
Well, this certainly makes my day - which got off to a bad start with some flare-ups with my kids over chores and my feelings of being disrespected and under-appreciated. How's that for transparency? No, I am not perfect and my kids sure aren't either.

So it's nice to know someone out there appreciates me! Thanks to Sallie for creating and hosting the Blogs of Beauth Awards - and to whoever voted for me! This really put a smile back on my face.

Congrats, Barbara. So when can we meet for a Mocha? :)

Congratulations, Barbara.
It's also good to hear that someone else doesn't have her family trained or prayed into perfection yet. I'm about to pull my hair out with teenagers squabbling with one another. I want to lock them all in a room to fight it out until someone learns to be Christlike or dies in the attempt.

Wow!! I found you through the Blogs of Beauty Awards, and I can't believe it's really you!! I have used your book, Ready, Set, Read with my oldest (alomst 6) and now starting on my second, and my almost 6 year old is a great reader!
Thank you so much for SUCH a wonderful book!!
Congrats too, on your award!!
Blessings,
Joy

Barbara-
Hooray for you! I am so glad you won this category, it is perfect for you. I can't think of ANYONE from the blogosphere that I would rather hang out with. Your kids don't know how lucky they are!
Sherry, You are hilarious:) Maybe you should threaten it and see if that straightens them out. I just read "What Is A Family" by Edith Schaeffer, and she would remind her children at such times that they were wasting precious time. That they would never have this day or this moment again, would one day long for the time when their brother or sister was right down the hall. I think such an appeal would have really touched me as a teenager. Maybe not though, they are unpredictable creatures. May God bless your Mommying!

I don't know if you've seen it or if someone else has already let you know, but the newest issue of Time has an 2 page article highlighting two adults with Down's Syndrome who have gotten married and are living on their own - it was a very sweet article, and something that I thought you would enjoy.

You got my vote. We're still trying to get out your way. If it happens, I'm buying the mocha for you!
