Sweet news: Down syndrome wedding
Time magazine recently featured the story of two young people with Down syndrome who married a couple weeks ago. Both are exceptionally high-functioning individuals (no matter how parents of kids with special needs frown on labels, there is simply no other way to describe this extraordinary couple).
Read their story at A Special Wedding. But note, that although Time played up the Hindu ceremony, it was followed by a Christian ceremony, which you can find pictures of here.
I had come across Sujeet's website some time ago (that picture is at least five years old). On it you will find essays on his many accomplishments as a musician and advocate for people with Down syndrome, as well as the story of relationship with Carrie. There is even a video of his public proposal following his performance of music from Phantom of the Opera (one of Jonny's favorites!)

Carrie is an artist and also a high-profile spokeswoman for DS. You can find more information about her and her art at Special Tomato.

I just loved looking at those pictures. What an exciting day!
I'm wondering, though, what your thoughts are about Carrie's reluctance to give birth to a child with DS. Do you care to comment on that?
Thanks!

I heard that guy play at a national DS conference in Pittsburgh. It has to be the same guy.
