Cutting

Fifteen years ago the big topic among parents of teens was eating disorders. Now the trend in extreme teen behavior is cutting.

A form of self-injury, cutting is purposely piercing the skin with a blade or any sharp object to cause bleeding. Often, kids who cut choose spots that they can hide with clothing, but some choose spots that seem as though they'd like everyone to see the results. The cutting I have seen on young adults has tended to be one long straight cut punctuated by a series of perpendicular small cuts.

Here are some sites with more information:

Barbara - I've been praying about healing for you and Jasmine since you shared that. I hope it's alright with you if I add Matt to my list. This is a serious problem and I know it grieves you, but you are so right to remember that God can reach him, no matter what!
