Sophia as Madame Thenardier!
Go here to see more.
Don't know why, but there are no pictures of Maddy as Eponine on Friday and Sunday. The Eponine pictured is Sage, who played the part on Saturday and with whom Maddy became good friends while preparing for the show.
I was very proud of my girls - not only for their acting and singing, but also for the character they displayed in their professional conduct throughout the rehearsals and performances. Double casting can bring out the best and worst in people. It's hard to deal with someone whose overly-competitive spirit and bitterness creates an ugly environment for everyone.
But my girls stayed focused and gracious - which is even more important than whether they're the best or most successful. Sophia recently experienced a spiritual re-awakening and it has been just amazing to see her shine in every area of her life - a witness to the fact that the real source of our confidence and strength is God.
Here is Sophia with two of her best friends after the show:
It's hard to see your kids go through trials - and so good to see God's blessings poured out on them when their priorities are in order!

Oh, I wanted to ask you how this was. You just knew your girls would be wonderful. It's fun to be a proud mama.
Keep us informed of all their shows. You never know who can make it. We're going to try one of these days.
