Apron Power! #19

apron19.jpg

Barbara,

After reading some of your entries about your Apron Power contest, I told my husband that I wanted an apron. I love the idea that putting on my apron symbolizes that I’m ready to do my work as a wife and mom. For Christmas my wonderful husband surprised me with an apron which he and our 17 month old had worked together to personalize. I am wearing it in the photo attached. They added a photo of my themselves. Hubby’s face is obscured in the attached photo, but that’s just as well, since he’d rather not have his photo on-line. It’s clear in real life. He wrote "mmm-mmm" - a quote from he & my son about my cooking and "We love you!", then added my son’s handprints. Now as I don my apron and prepare to do my work, I am constantly reminded of the ones I do my work for. Thanks for your contest which was the inspiration for my special new apron.

Karen

I just love the way this contest is going! Imagine: the radical feminists used to think the apron was a symbol of our enslavement. Now we're asking our husbands for them for Christmas!! But I can attest too to the fact that wearing one makes me feel like Queen for a Day!

Entries due January 12. I will post them as I receive them, but also in a batch on January 13 for voting. Final day of voting January 19. Winners announced January 20.

(I'm sure to be making more comments on the contest in the weeks to come as I gather more ideas to share with you. All will be gathered in my Contest Archives - you might want to bookmark the spot.)

And be sure to spread the word - lift the icon from my right sidegar and link back to the contest annnouncement embedded in it.

Barbara,

Can you tell me how to copy the Apron Power logo to my site? I tried right clicking, then choosing "copy", but I wasn't sure how to get it to my site.

Thanks,
Connie

I don't know if there is a faster way to do this, but here is what I've been doing:

I right click on the logo and save to my desktop.

Then left click to get the http address which I save in a word document

I use Moveable Type, so not sure how other blogs work, but I upload the photo, then highlight the complete code for it and link to the http address.

The result is the logo which anyone can click on to get here.
