Hi Barbara,

I am a new mom of a 14 month old little girl. My sister introduced me to your blog a year ago & through reading your blog I have gained so many new insights into parenting & playing with my daughter. I appreciate your honesty and "realness" with which you write your blog.

My sister & I have always loved to bake. Now, she has a 3 ½ year old & I have a 14 month old and we are so excited to have daughters to join us in the kitchen. I started wearing an apron after my grandmother passed away 7 years ago and I acquired her old apron. I decided to use it every time I was in the kitchen as a way to remember and honor her. I loved knowing that I was wearing something that she often wore while in the kitchen. It made me feel close to her. A few years ago, I decided to buy 3 vintage full-size aprons instead of getting a "brand new" one, because I liked the feeling of "wearing some history". I am always more inspired when I cook while wearing one of these worn-in and faded aprons that was used by another woman in her kitchen somewhere else 20, 30 maybe 40 years ago.

Also, I hadn't sewed in several years, but was so excited when the idea hit me to make matching aprons for my sister & niece this Christmas. After reading about your Apron Power contest, I was even more motivated. So, my sister already sent in her photo & I just had to send in an entry as well.

This photo is my sister, her daughter & myself wearing the vintage aprons.

Please spread the word and let's get LOTS of votes!

Also, on the album, you can leave comments.

I have to say, I'm partial to the pregnant mamas! How cute in aprons! And how practical - In my pre-apron days, my clothes were always a mess!

Love,
