    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Blogging Basics 101

women%20power.jpg

I give thanks every day for blogging, as I believe it has truly empowered mothers in a way that has little to do with what we used to think was empowerment. It has taken us out of the isolation that was the biggest downside of our calling and given us a sense of community and purpose. Plus a healthy dose of humor so we see our jobs in the best possible light (when you have a bad day, thinking of its entertainment value is a lot better than going to bed and crying!)and hopefully - in the blogs you choose - a bunch of ideas for making the most of your motherhood and whole lot of love and inspiration.

Just in case you've been thinking of blogging yourself, or if you've only just begun - two very accomplished blogger mommies have teamed up to provide something you may need - Blogging Basics 101. Here - I'll let Shannon of Rocks in My Dryer (the inspiration for my Meet Me in the Laundry Room contest) and Chilihead of Don't Try This at Home introduce their new blog personally:

Welcome to Blogging Basics 101! We've had this idea brewing for months, and we're excited to send it out into Blog Land.

Basically, this idea grew out of the private e-mails we were receiving from the readers of our personal blogs. There's much for a beginning blogger to learn, and there didn't seem to be a simple, user-friendly place to go and learn the basics.

Now there is!

For everything you've ever wanted to know about exchanging links, counters, memes, and even trackbacks (still the mystery I cannot solve), go to Blogging Basics101.

After reading through all the wonderful information at Blogging Basics 101 I decided to comment for my first time here! I just wanted to thank you for your transparency and the grace you share here. It is truly the grace of our Lord that shines through on your blog.I wholeheartedly agree with you about the blessing that blogging is. Not only has it helped me connect with other moms but it has also allowed me to learn from wiser mommies. I know no one in "real life" with twelve kids! Ha!! As a mother of six (and this NOT being the norm in my community) it is nice to come here and feel "normal".:) Barbara, remember the Lord sings over you and rejoices in you!!!! (Zephanaiah 3:17) Blessings on you and yours.
