Readers' Questions
I have a question for you:
Is it helpful when I post questions from readers and ask for a round-up of replies? Is this something you enjoy about MommyLife or is it something that you could do with less of?
Just letting you know because I'm busy answering email and wondering if I should post the questions/answers here for your input too.
Also, what about the new picture? [Note: the first new picture wasn't that popular, so as of Wednesday afternoon there is yet another - and my last - attempt. so any comments made before 4PM EST 1/10 were about the old new picture. You are now looking at the new new picture] (If you're getting the same as last time, hit F5 on your keyboard to refresh.)
My husband took the old old, the old new, and the new new :)

Barbara,
We've never minced words (you already know I adore you).
Put the other one back!

Barbara,
I think you've done a great job of balancing open forum posts with your own traditional posts. It's nice to see a broader perspective on some issues and it's also nice to have your regular posts. Trust your gut. You're doing great here!!!
Have a Joyous Day!

Love your beautiful, joy-filled smile in the photo but it (the photo) is a little blurry and I would rather look at you "straight on". That said, I have loved all the photos you've had up (even the "cold" one) and it seems that each one brings out a different side of your personality. My personal all time favorite photo of you is the one with your family at Thanksgiving:) My best advice would be to pick you and your family's favorite (or are there as many opinions there as there are within your readership!?) and go with it.

The picture is nice, but I like the other one better.
And I enjoy the forum aspect!

I always like your advice, as well as the variety of answers from the open questions. Keep them!

I agree with Kelli - you've done a great job of balancing emails from readers with your posts. Your blog and your books are a huge encouragement!
And I'm 50-50 on the picture. Your joy and beauty definitely show in this picture, but there's a little something amiss that I can't place my finger on. I think it would be fine if you decide to keep it or change it.

I'm with Amy on the picture!
And I like the posted questions (and the reader responses)

I've like all your pics. If you are uncertain about them, how about rotating them each month? Could be fun.
Forums are great.

Barbara,
I agree with the other comments. I like the other picture better (this one looks blurry) and you're doing a good job of balancing emails and posts here. I've learned a lot. :) Thanks.

I love the question and answers you post.
And I like your picture. It looks very candid, but I think that's kind of what you are going for. It's warm and friendly and informal. It's nice.

Hey Barbara,
I just wanted to say that I find it very helpful when you post questions/answers here...it has been helpful to hear wisdom from your readers on the topics as well as your own.
I enjoy your blog so much and am very thankful for you. You have such a sweet spirit.

Hi Barbara,
This picture is nice, but too blurry, and I don't like the side look. The other one was better focused and showed your face. How about a retake?
I like the question/answer. You don't overwhelm with them in numbers. Sometimes I wish that the Q/A would stay at the top of the page longer, so more people would reply. I love that you post so often. It's fun to come back multiple times a day and find new things!! But is there some way to make the latest Q/A stay at the top for a couple of days?
Thanks for your great blog!

Happy Birthday to Matt. What a beautiful story. I hope your relationship mends soon. I like it when you post questions and let people respond. It lets us know how people are thinking. I like to read others comments. I also like the pic. You look really happy. Love the big grin.

I think the pic is a little blurry.
I enjoy reader questions because if I haven't been through it yet, I might soon, and need the advice!

I think it's great to offer your readers the opportunity to reply to questions you receive. There are many people with varying experiences that can offer insight.
I like the picture...although it is apparent the reason your readers continue to come back to your blog is the beauty that comes through in your writing. I agree with Keri L...if your family likes a particular photo, use that one.

i like this picture - definitely better than the last one - and we can still see the new, slimmer you!

I noticed your new picture instantly, and I love it! You are so LOVELY. I know I'm biased because I love you so much, but in and out, your beauty is shining through. It is a wee bit blurry though. Also, I really enjoy the posts of questions and answers.

I like the old photo better :)
I agree that you do a good job of balancing questions with your usual posts. It's a nice mix!

I think the picture is cute. You look... happier. More energetic. Probably how you feel, too! I think you have a great forum for questions and answers because as an author, you receive more questions on a broader spectrum. Take advantage of your unique position and post them when it seems appropriate. Your readership can only benefit.

Barbara, I enjoy having the questions up. Some of them are benificial to lots of us. :)
I really like eyes; so I would have a picture with your eyes showing more. I know how hard it is to take a natural picture while posing. I get the best ones of my family when they don't know about it or when I make them laugh so hard they can't help looking like themselves. :) Do you have a picture you can have a close up cropped out of? Maybe one of the holiday pictures. Or have Tripp tell you funny/heartwarming stories and keep trying. :) You could do a photo booth style with several smiles. :) That would be fun!

I like the questions and answers. Honestly I don't read them all, but do read the ones that pertain to me or that I might learn something from.
The picture is very interesting -the way your head is turned one way and eyes looking another.
I say - keep trying. :)

Barbara, I agree with the retake idea, this new photo doesn't do the "new" you justice. Try it straight on.
Also, I really like the posting of questions on the blog. It really helps me to hear other ideas. I like getting personal e-mails too, but I understand the time factor.

As soon as I saw the new picture, I thought, "I LOVE this one!" You look so cheerful and joyful in it.
I like to see your email correspondence and hear advice from other readers as well.

I love when you post emails and let your readers give advice. It helps create a real community feeling.
I think I missed the new photo because the one I see is straight on. I love it, though!

Love the new, new one. YAY!

Mrs. Curtis,
I didn't know where to put this but I wanted to say I LOVE the newest photo. It seems so very you. Your smile is so contagious!
