Free copy of Small Beginnings
[This book has already been claimed - in less time than it took me to write the entry! Good work, Connie! ]
Small Beginnings was my very fist book - published in 1997 and along with Ready, Set, Read! taken out of print in 1999 when the publisher decided to "change directions."
As you know, the story has a happy ending as I went on to spend many years writing magazine articles (over 800 published to date), which improved my writing skills - as Mark Twain once said, "I would have written you a shorter letter, but I didn't have the time" - then back to books for a few years before B&H approached me to see if I might be interested in rewriting SB and RSR for re-publication.
Boy, would I!! By then I had more years writing and mothering experience, not to mention this blog, where I've learned and grown so much through relationships with readers.
But those books Mommy, Teach Me! and Mommy, Teach Me to Read! - which I finished writing last September and which have been expanded to include 60% new material - will not be out until June.
In the meantime, yesterday I got a surprise in my mailbox as Amazon returned a copy of Small Beginnings to me that has a teensy bit of damage to the spine.
I have my own two copies - which is all I need for my personal history - so will send this copy to the first commenter with kids under five who doesn't already have a copy and can't wait 'til June to start enjoying them more!

am i first am i first??? i would LOVE to see your book. my big boy is well on his way with his letters already...i would love the chance to take it to the next step.
