On to more encouraging things

I'm preparing for a talk with moms tomorrow so I don't have much time :)

I did want to share a few things, though, and then I'll run a Goldie Oldie or two for those of you who need some encouragement - especially after sludging through this week's political muck. I do agree with those who said they felt that even SAHMs busy with little children need to be aware what's going on - nationally and locally - that will impact their families and their children when they are older.

Still, when you're busy with doing laundry and keeping a positive perspective, I know it's a drag. I just want to give you some food for thought between the rinse and spin cycles. So, thanks for hanging in there!

Received this yesterday about an ad on my site:

I don't consider the appearance of this advertisement to be your implicit support of such products, but if you only wish to carry advertisements of things you personally endorse I figured I would point these out.

And just so you know, I appreciate your willingness to speak out about the ways the some try to silence (or just plain ignore) others opinions.

Sincerely,
Emily

This is why I love my readers! You care about me enough to let me know when something's wrong!

I've explained before my endorsement of specific materials I link to - I won't bring anything to your attention unless it's something I would use myself. The links to stores like Hearth Song and Lillian Vernon are places I've ordered from myself. My blogads, however, are placed by companies that have sought out space here and I have the option to approve them. In this case I did not check every page available after the initial link. The ad in question is gone. I've also written to the company to let them know that I'm just not into cynical and sarcastic baby products.

Thanks, Emily!

Second item: I'm always trying to keep up with loading stuff at Barbara's Picks and at my own website. On my priority list is loading more grown-up movies, so do check back there as time goes on. I link to amazon, where you can read other reviews - but all of the movies are available from Netflix, which I heartily recommend and which is a supporter of this website. If you ever decide to join Netflix, remember to click through the logo in the bottom left sidebar.

Third item: My BlogGuru has gotten a page up for Mommy, Teach Me! - thank you, BlogGuru! Right now, this is just kind of a place holder for what will eventually be a jam-packed resource of materials to equip you to help your preschooler reach his/her full potential by incorporating Montessori principles into your daily lives - and with specific Montessori exercises adapted for home.

Thanks again for hanging in there this week! Better days ahead!

Love,

On the topic of grown-up movies...have you seen Life is Beautiful? That is my favorite movie of all time. Such a wonderful testimony to the human spirit.
