Radio opera today: the Barber of Seville

If you're an opera lover - or just someone who's curious - you need to know that the Metropolitan Opera has Saturday radio broadcasts. You can find the schedule here and click on Station Finder to find the station near you.

Today at 1:30 ET you can hear The Barber of Seville as it is sung live at the Met.

You can prepare yourself and your kids with the extensive background materials here about the history, composer, etc.

You can even follow along as the opera is sung with pictures and synopsis here.

This is a wonderful resource to introduce your children to opera. Teacher materials are always provided. Check the schedule for upcoming operas which will be broadcast live every Saturday through May 7.
