Back on Mommy Track
Well, no matter what else is happening, my life as a mother goes on - just like yours. I'm still doing laundry and making dinner and reading to kids. I just haven't had time to talk about it :)
For those of you who like me to stick to mothering topics - and happy ones - thanks for hanging in there while we took some detours this week.
All I have left to say is that although I thought that Imus should resign (like a gentleman), I am sick that he was fired because of flak from Al Sharpton. To have Al Sharpton as King of the Thought Police certainly bodes ill for free speech in this country.
With that said, I am back on Mommy Track. With nearly 1700 entries here - and 6586 comments - there is a ton of helpful information on everything from teaching your kids to tie their shoes to liberating them with a stepstool. Whatever you're looking for, try googling with my personal google in the right sidebar. Or click on Categories above to browse stuff like Montessori or Teens and Tweens.
If you can't find what you want, email me - and let me know if you'd like me to throw your question out for discussion. There are lots of smart moms who read here - sometimes I'm not sure why because their answers are better than mine :)

Barbara, I think many of us feel a sense of community here at your blog. I love your advice, but I also love reading the many perspectives that come out in the comments too!

I don't think he really was fired from Al Sharpton's hysterics. He was suspended for two weeks after Al Sharpton's show... the firing came after P&G, GM, Staples.com and the other sponsors pulled their advertising dollars. That's what it's really about, IMO.
