Call for photos: Moms of children with Down syndrome
Thanks to e-mom for the button - which you can use also to encourage more pictures to the special album I'm creating for Mothers Day 2007 - pictures of moms with their Little Extras, our children with Down syndrome.

We're already off to a great start. I'm creating the album and when as I receive pictures, I share access with each mom - but we are keeping the album private until Mothers Day. When you send me your pictures, please add whatever you'd like to for the caption - but only up to 1024 characters (roughly 200 words).
[Note: if you have sent me your picture and have not received a link to the album from me, please email me and let me know so I can make sure you are in the loop. Things got a little mixed up while I was in California.]
I'm picturing this album as something to share with our friends and family - plus our kids with DS as they enjoy seeing pictures of each other! But I'm especially thinking of it as a resource for moms and dads who've just received a diagnosis of their new baby before or after birth and need some hope.
My suggestion for whatever you will write to go with your picture is to think of that parent as though they are sitting across the table sharing a cup of coffee or tea. They are feeling at least a little lost - maybe a lot. You take their hand in theirs and share your experience. What has having a child with Down syndrome meant to you?
I know 200 words isn't a lot, but you can really say a lot if you try. As Mark Twain once said, "I would have written you a shorter letter, but I didn't have the time."
Keep this project in your prayers! I'm probably not the best person to do this as far as technical skills go, but MommyLife does have the readership numbers so that people will find this album when they go looking. And I am enjoying doing it!
