    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Daniel - does this kid look sick to you?

btw, here is a picture I took upon arriving home from picking up Daniel from school because the teacher and nurse claimed he was "gray and doubled over in pain and gagging" - none of which was going on when I picked him up (see A Rant Only Mothers of Kids with Special Needs Will Understand).

I am still really upset at the prejudice that goes on against kids with disabilities in the public schools. I guess we've been fortunate that in 15 years with 4 boys this is the first really horrible encounter we've had with a reality that many parents face every day: a double standard of how our kids our kids are scrutinized at school.

also btw, Daniel's birth family is here from California - touring DC - and will be here for a visit tomorrow - the first time we've seen them in five years. Pray that all goes well!

Oh, and notice the haircut! Those of you who've been around for a while know that Daniel has had a real phobia of haircuts and I decided to just relax and let it grow. It had gotten pretty long! But last Saturday when his Big Bros were here, I asked him if he wanted a haircut and he said yes! Which just confirms that time does heal most everything!

Love,

No, he doesn't look sick but then again you knew he wasn't to begin with. I will be praying that homeschooling the 3 youngest will be a blessing to you Mrs. C. It is too bad you had to experience what you did yesterday but it might be be a blessing in the long run. That is how I try to see things that affect me like you have been affected by the meanness of the school system.

He is a beauty! And, no, he doesn't look sick. This is shocking to me that this would happen, but I'm totally out of touch with what would go on in a public school. You are keeping a great attitude about it!

He is beautiful, Barbara. Period.

What a great looking boy! He looks to be the picture of health, and I'm chuckling because the pose he's in is just like your avatar on this blog!

Sorry about the harassment at the school. Shame on them.

I know this is a really old post, but I just wanted to comment on how beautiful and happy your son looks in this picture!
