TLC seeking families with 12 or more children - It's a go!
Regarding the TLC search for families with 12 or more children - and the securtiy issues raised in sending your personal family information in without knowing for sure if it was legit - I wrote the producer and received this response:
Hi BarbaraThanks for your email. I am a producer for Powderhouse Productions. We make a show for TLC called Kids By The Dozen. We aired three episodes earlier this year about the Heppners in MN, the Arndts in IL and the Jeubs in CO - all families with over 12 children.
Based on the strength of those three episodes, TLC has asked us to find new families to feature. Hence my search.
I'm sure you've seen the posting regarding the search for families. If people have any particular questions for me about the veracity or legitimacy of our program and our search, please let me know. I can be reached at the following contact in formation.
cgidez@powderhouse.net
Or those with questions can call my Associate Producer Kevin Young at (617) 629-2200 x202. He can answer any urgent questions, as I am about to embark on a trip around the country to meet families who have expressed interest in participating in our program. Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely
Chris Gidez

So it looks like a go! I really want to watch the old episodes myself!

Hello again Barbara,
I have seen these episodes. They are really great to watch. The family shows how they organize everything. And how they go about their day to day lives. You should apply to the show. Not all of them have all of the children living at home. Your family would be great to see on the show.

I have seen the old episodes and they are great! At least two of the families are on a website for mommies of many young siblings called MOMYS.net. They are a great resource for larger families.

Looks like this chain happened back in April 07. It's now almost November 07. I wonder (outloud) if they're still seeking large families for this series. My wife and I gave birth to 6, then adopted 6 more, 11 still at home. I think we have an interesting story...but maybe not "worthy" of the limelight. Besides, adoption issues make widespread publication of our whereabouts perhaps unwise.
