Angels in Adoption - nomination time

Three years ago, Tripp and I received the Angels in Adoption award.

angels

We met some incredible people from all different states who have made a difference in the lives of children through foster care and adoption - particularly of difficult cases or large numbers of kids.

It's nomination time for this years awards and I wanted to pass on the announcement in case you know someone worthy:

Dear Angel,

It’s that time again: CCAI is encouraging the adoption community to submit nominations for Angel in Adoption™ to Congressional Offices. We need your knowledge of outstanding people or organizations to be passed along to your Members of Congress. Without your nominations, this program would not be possible!

Your Congressional office will need the following information:

1. Name of the Angel in Adoption™ you are nominating
2. Phone number
3. Address
4. Email address
5. A paragraph or two explaining the nominee’s work with adoption and/or foster care issues.

Please help us in raising awareness nationally in these issues and honor deserving individuals by nominating an Angel in Adoption™ to your Member of Congress. For more information about the program, nomination process, or contact information for your Members of Congress, please visit our website or contact Emily Collins at (202) 544-8500 or Emily@ccainstitute.org.

I nominated someone from Indiana last year - which meant getting in touch with the Indiana representative for their district. This wasn't easy since I am from Virginia and they didn't want to waste their time at first talking to a non-constituent. If you live in the same Congressional district, you will have no porblem. If you live in a different one, just be forceful and explain to someone who will listen how important it is that this family be recognized for their hard work.

Let us know if someone you know receives one this year!

Love,
