Hamas kindergarten

Here's some food for thought:

I can't tell you how important it is as parents to be intentional - to have a plan for the kind of adults you want to launch into the world. They need to prepared for a world that may be very different than the one we live in today.

Sometimes I think that in America we have things too easy. We've become self-indulgent and complacent.

Do you know what I mean? It's like the difference between the quiet place I live now and and where I once lived in the Mission District of San Francisco - which wasn't really all that bad but which definitely called for a higher degree of awareness and street savvy. Sometimes I feel like we're just sitting ducks - while the media distracts us with the latest on Rosie or Paris or Lindsay or Cindy Sheehan - or global warming or the worst hurricane season ever (remember that dire prediction which never materialized last year?) or Barack or Hillary.

Today's news of a terrorist plot on Kennedy airport being thwarted barely makes an impression. Do we even breathe a prayer of thanks?

And meanwhile in places like this Hamas kindergarten . . .

Love,

I can't even watch the whole video. What a sobering reminder. It is so sad. However, we all teach our kids something...whether we are intentional about it or not. Sometimes our ignorance to their constant state of learning is what we should be most ashamed of.

P.S. I'm so excited to buy your books...I just discovered your website recently through imajackson's blog (my good, though cross-country, friend)!

This is just a heartbreaking video clip. No doubt the parents of those children are very intentional about what kind of adults their producing. Often times, I wonder if American parents have as much zeal in their role.

Thank you for your blog. Very thought provoking. I love visiting daily!

Blessings,

Diane

This is an important post on Hamas kindergarten. "Death for the sake of Allah"... Man, it is going to be quite something what our Christian children are going to have to face in the future.

Glad to see you tackle it all in one paragraph! *thumbs-up*

I thought of you when I was posting the commencement address my father gave this afternoon at the local Christian school. I thought it would interest you. See June 2, 2007 - http://parentingdecisions.com/blog

BTW, I heard Rush talk all about the Dangerous Book for Boys yesterday on his show. Very cool...

I sat there with my mouth open, watching this video! I couldn't believe it!

Scary. Eye-opening. Sobering. Not even sure how I feel about it, but will pray about how I can be more intentional in my training and equipping at home.

thanks.

wow...tears filled my eyes...i don't even have any other words, besides fear in my heart, and an urgent reminder to pray more...in every way, to pray more...
