Down syndrome resource

For those of you out there who love someone with Down syndrome, here is a resource you should know about:

The DS Press, published by the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati bimonthly. This always has lots of good practical articles on matters of concern to parents of children with DS - and not just in Ohio. Also listings of children with Down syndrome who need homes (don't get the wrong idea - these kids are actually in great demand). In fact, I found out about Jesse, our first adopted son through Robin Steele who heads DSAGC's Adoption Project.

I get a copy in the mail, but you can download it here.

Also, Rebecca, website designer extraordinaire and herself mother of a two-year-old daughter with Down syndrome, has put together the most comprehensive list of links for parents you could imagine here.

Love,

Hi Barbara:
This is Janet, the executive director of the DSAGC. I'm glad you like our DS Press!

Every issue is on our website at dsagc.com in English and in Spanish. Surprisingly enough, 40% of the hits are for the Spanish version.

Thanks again for the kind words!

Thanks for the great resources about Down syndrome, I'll be sure to post them.
Here's a post of mine with information about what some of my friends are doing to help raise awareness of what a blessing these children are, in response to the ACOG's recommendation that all women be tested for Trisomy-21.

Even the NY Times has taken notice of this movement, we must be making an impression!
