Though there is some self-interest in my spreading the news about Amazon - customers clicking in through my site generate a percentage which supports this site - I am truly convinced through personal experience that Amazon can one of a busy mom's best friends.
I've been an Amazon customer for around nine years, buying books to begin with and then as they expanded finding them to be a great resource as they began adding more and more categories of products. They sell everything from magazine subscriptions to personal care products to major appliances (even washers and dryers) now.
Their prices are hard to beat - and they usually offer free shipping on orders over $25 (this doesn't apply to some third-party items and also you must remember to click on the Super Saver Shipping option when you checkout).
They also have used items which can save you money (though you have to factor in the shipping cost here).
And I really love being able to check out reviews on everything before making a decision. I no longer subscribe to Consumer Reports, because I'd much rather read what real people had to say about coffee pots and mascara and pet food.
Now they are selling groceries. And I've found a lot of convenience and savings in buying things like Jesse's gluten-free products (Jesse has celiac disease) and tea and laundry detergent. I'm very happy to have these things delivered directly to my door. Some of my readers have been kind enough to remember to bookmark the entry from here to Amazon to order disposable diapers, onesies - all kinds of stuff, including a headboard a few months ago! While I do receive a report of items bought, I have no your privacy is safe because I do not get a list of who is making purchases.
