Natalie's adoption update
Thank you, readers, for responding to the post this morning about the Tippetts' adoption need.
Barbara,
I just wanted to thank you for posting our link on your blog and for your personal donation. Just to update you we have had over 20 donations since you posted, bringing in around $200. I'm sure the majority of that was from your readers and the donations are still coming in. I am humbled and so appreciative.Pray for Liberian adoptions in general. There are some new people in position at the US embassy right now who are slowing things down and this is especially detrimental for the special needs kids whose lives depend on getting out of there quickly. If you'd like to know more go here:
Bringing Isaac HomeAll the adoptive families are calling out for help. This makes it all the more urgent to get Natalie home before the adoption process in Liberia becomes unreasonably difficult or impossible.
Thanks again! I'll send you another update in a few days.
Jennie Lou
For those of you involved in international adoptions - or who have friends involved in international adoptions - you know the heartbreak that goes on for months and sometimes years as the seemingly senseless bureaucracies grind slowly away, even as hearts are yearning to provide a home for a child/children who desperately need a family.
My daughter Samantha has been waiting for months for her baby in Guatemala. I once met a woman who'd been waiting for two years for a sibling group of three children she'd been promised in Haiti. Please pray for these families to be united.
And I think it's a wonderful idea when we can't adopt ourselves, to help fund another family who is willing to adopt.
Btw, for a heart-wrenching account of an adoptive father's struggle to bring his daughter home from Africa, read Love in the Driest Season.
I am personally adopting the Tippetts family in terms of telling their story, so will be providing updates. Let's make this happen for them - through our prayers and financial support.

Barbara, thanks for keeping this story in front of your readers as a reminder to pray and an opportunity to share resources.
I have friend who met her son when he was 3 and was unable to bring him home for four long years! He is a well-loved and solid family member now and has been a tremendous blessing to his Mom and Dad.
I pray that the Tibbetts bring Natalie home very soon.

We have friends that are adopting from there (same orphanage too). They are adopting a special needs child.
Next week I am hosting a sewing party to make the children some clothes, I have about 18 moms and daughters signed up.
Just another way to support adoption!
