Abandoned baby's body found in Loudoun County

So sad. I don't know that this has ever happened so close to home for me.

Loudoun County, Virginia- The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office and the Fairfax County Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the mother of a deceased newborn baby boy found in a trash truck on Saturday.

Investigators are concerned for the health of the mother due to the unknown circumstances surrounding the baby’s birth. Authorities are asking the assistance of the public in locating the mother who would have been recently pregnant and has unexplainable or suspicious circumstances surrounding the birth of her child.

On Saturday morning the Fairfax County Police Department was called to the area of Utterback Store Road in the Great Falls area after garbage collectors found the body of a newborn infant. The baby is believed to have come from the Sterling area; however the refuse company made limited pickups in the Great Falls area.

The baby appeared to be a full term boy and showed no signs of obvious trauma. Investigators are awaiting the final results of an autopsy on the newborn to be performed by the Virginia Medical Examiners Office.

Investigators feel strongly that someone in this community will recognize that a friend or neighbor that was once pregnant now is without a baby. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Loudoun Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475. Persons calling who wish to remain anonymous may call at 703-777-1919 or 1-877-777-1931.

After speaking at a pro-life banquet yesterday and reminding everyone that being pro-life is about so much more than ending abortion - it's about increasing awareness of the meaning and worth of EVERY life - this was hard news to hear.

Loudoun readers - if you have any information, please CALL!

Oh Barbara,
That is so horribly sad. I can only hope that the baby's mother is found. I will be praying for her. Bless that little boys heart. How lost/scared this girl must be.
