The War on PBS - anyone watching?
Shannon wrote to ask if our family is watching the new Ken Burns' series on PBS:
I don't suppose you and your husband are watching the PBS series The War? Wow is it powerful and so informative. I'm learning all over again. And I thought I was having bad days. It's a little gory at times for younger children, but I def think its great for older children. I'm not too sure about your views on war. :)
Is anyone out there watching? What do you think so far? It looks great to me - and we loved his series on the Civil War.
But since we turned off our TV a couple months ago, we haven't seen this. I think what I'm going to do is take the money we've saved by cutting our TV and just buy the series (cheapest at Amazon), watch it with our older kids and loan it out to anyone else who wants to see it, then sell it used at Amazon. That's a method I use sometimes instead of renting videos.
Also - I notice it will be available at Netflix. Yay for Netflix!!!
