Toddlers and pool safety

Not exactly the right season - unless you live in California :) - but evidently drown-proofing toddlers is possible with the proper training. Stacie sent me this link:

wow, that is amazing! My heart was in my mouth when the little guy wandered out the door.

having your own swimming pools is not common here in the UK, but it's something I need to look at teaching my kids despite that.

It's worth noting that (here at least) many drownings of toddler and small children occur in shallow (sometimes just a few inches deep) garden ponds, often at grandparents homes.
