Ushpizin - must-see movie

In the midst of all those Netflix coupons flying around (Holly still has some at A Woman Seeking Grace), my cyberfriend Deb recommended this movie and I put if next on my own Netflix queue. It looks terrific - and scored 93% at Rotten Tomatoes (100% from Cream of the Crop reviewers).
You can see the trailer here.
Thanks, Deb!

I really enjoyed this movie. It's such a great peephole into Jerusalem's ultra Orthodox world, which I personally find fascinating. Ushpizin is extremely popular among Orthodox Jews (the ones that watch the occasional movie), which is as good of an endorsement as any! Hope you enjoy it!

This movie is great! To me it was like a passport to an entire world I knew so little about.

We really enjoyed this movie, so many convicting and applicable principles! Funny too!
I would love to hear any more of your latest movie picks :) Always looking for a good film instead of the mainstream junk from Hollywood.
happy viewing- sarah

Forgot to ask... have you seen Life is Beautiful? It is my absolute favorite film. I'm sure you have, just didn't see it on your list of movie choices?

Yes, yes, yes! We just got this, too, and LOVED it! I'm telling you, the worship (the woman is singing to God alone)and prayer (the man is praying out loud alone on a park bench) scenes are so moving...I cried like a baby. So touchingly beautiful!
The timing is perfect, too, as this holiday (the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot in Hebrew), starts Wednesday night.
Thanks for mentioning this...I know other folks will love it, too!
Blessings,
Julie
