Kansas Milkmaid update
Somehow I forgot to announce that Christina is blogging again, so if you don't already know, you can catch up with her at Kansas Milkmaid.
Her husband's trial starts December 17. Christina needs our prayers as she will face a grueling process on the witness stand. From all I know of domestic violence cases, the hardest thing will be convincing jurors of why she stayed in an abusive marriage. Although I haven't experienced this myself, I once did research and interviewed victims of domestic violence. It's an extremely complicated psychological tangle to begin with. Add to the mix a faith which says you are supposed to submit to your husband and pastors who tell you you have to stay - and it's even harder to break the cycle of abuse.
This trial will be not only reliving the abuse, but also suffering the abuse of defense attorneys who will do everything they can to discredit Christina. As though a woman would put herself through this kind of torture for any reason other than that it truly happened.
Christina needs our support. Please, please remember to pray for her well-being and safety. She is in desperate straits financially even as her husband's divorce attorney is claiming that she has profited from the abuse through donations people have made to help her keep her family together. Please contact her if you would like to help make Christmas a little brighter at the farm she still works with her children.
