    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!

    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Christmas gift idea - family calendar

Great and inexpensive Christmas gift idea from my friend Ann:

Click on Costco and go to Photo Department to create a personal calendar. From the warmth of your home, download your pictures and then pick a border theme and choose the appropriate picture for each month of the year and create your own title.

You can even fill all 365 days with pictures of your family (if you don't want anybody to be able to WRITE on those days :)) You can put faces of family members on their birthdates, list people to pray on specific dates. It's all with a click and drag of the mouse.

Cost? 9.95 if you want an 8X10 in firm cardboard, 17 for a laminated 10X14 or so. SO SO REASONABLE.

Best thing? It arrives to your front door and it's covered in plastic with the back side showing each month's pictures JUST like the ones in the store. Great for grandparents --- collect all their grandkids' pictures. Great for out-of-town family or friends you want to remember your family. And for YOUR family? Every kid could have his/her own month!!!!

This is what Grandma gets every year! The Costco brand is the best kind because it is on cardstock and the backgrounds are so cute.

This is a great idea! I did this on walgreens.com. I was also able to do photo collage posters (for those who wouldn't want a calendar) online from home. The hardest part is choosing the pictures!

After seeing this post this is exactly what we did for all the grandparents and great-grandparents. They were a HUGE hit! This may become an annal tradition. It was so hard to choose the pictures, so I did different ones for each relative.

Thanks so much to you and Ann for sharing this. It made the decision on what (if anything?) to do for family this year so much simpler and affordable.
