The Child King - new movie with Down syndrome star

Hi Barbara, Not sure if you heard of this new movie coming out on DVD this Christmas. It stars a boy with DS in it. It's about finding Santa, but looks very heartwarming. Santa isn't our thing....but I'm curious about the movie. Have you heard anything about it? The Child King

Now that I have seen it...

I am only speculating but I can relate to the desire to see something you have worked to hard on completed and share it with the world. Fortunately we live in a time when this is possible and the producers of the "Child King" have pulled it off, however it appears to done with a low budget so if you are looking for something slick and polished you will be disappointed.

There were several parts of the movie that I felt need to be discussed. "Sissy you are never to drive the car anywhere, the boy in the movie obviously has not had heart surgery (why Sissy believes she can not drive)" "Do not run from the police." "Do not ride up the baggage ramp at the airport." etc...

Overall my family really like the "Child King." It is a very cute movie and seeing a child with Down syndrome in a major role is always a treat for me. I see it as becoming a holiday classic in our home.
