Special needs kids - model search
From Parents magazine - looking for special kid models not just for articles on special needs, btw:
Looking For ModelsOur photo editors asked us to reach out to you:
We love that kids come in all different shapes, sizes, and abilities and it’s important to us to celebrate that through the photos and models we select for the magazine. We always try to include special-needs kids in our photo shoots (for general stories—not just for stories about special needs) but finding kids to feature can be challenging! That’s why we’re asking you guys for help. If you have a special needs child—or know someone who does—and would be interested in possibly being involved in one of our photo shoots, we’d love to hear from you. We shoot most often in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut area (that’s where we are!) but we also do shoots in other places around the country throughout the year.
If you’re interested, email our sittings editor, Sharon, at sharon.elcock@meredith.com. And feel free to pass this post along if you know someone who might be interested. Thanks for your help!
Let us know if your child makes it!

Thanks for the link, Barbara, I always appreciate it when a TV show like Sesame Street or a catalogue includes our lovely special needs children. I just might contact them!

Hi I am the coach for the Special Olympics USA Gymnastics Team. There is this unbelievable gymnast, Marc Janovics. I believe he is the best gymnast in the world with Downs. He is the current World Champion. I am trying to get someone to use him for modeling. He is not like others with Downs, he works out all the time. Please let me know if you know anyone that can help him. I have some awesome pictures of him.
Gymnastically yours,
Glen Marks

Hi,
Angel is 10 and has been calling herself Biance forever. She loves Tyra Banks and wants to be the next top model. However, she has epilepsy and is slow to learn, but very enthusiastic and happy. She is a joy to be around. Also, she loves to talk and make various poses.
