Kansas Milkmaid update

I talked to Christina - who we know and love as the Kansas Milkmaid - yesterday. Many of us were following her story and praying for her family when charges of domestic violence were brought against her husband by the state of Kansas.

Unfortunately, as often happens in such cases, Christina's experience in court was like a second round of victimization. A complicated mass of legal technicalities and politics produced a plea bargain in which her husband got off very lightly. December was a dark month. Christina writes: The darkness paralleled what many followers of Christ must have felt as they watched their king hang brutalized and lifeless on the cross. It appeared all hope was lost. The king was dead. However, we know God's work was not finished at the cross. Three days later hope was restored through the resurrection.

She sees it as no coincidence that along with celebrating the Resurrection this month, there was good news as justice was served in the divorce court and custody hearings. Christina says, God simply was not finished redeeming and delivering us from the oppression of domestic violence.

Christina has her children and they are leaving soon to start a new life establishing their own farm. For the next few months, she will be spending every moment working to get her family settled and their farm up and running.

Expect an update from her June 1. And please pray for continued healing for Christina and the children. You can leave messages for her here as comments. And if you have been following this story, please pass on this news.

Love,

Thank you for the update. I've often prayed for my sister to the south and wondered how things were going.

Thank you for the update. I've been checking her blog periodically, hoping to hear how things have progressed for her.

I can't imagine having to start all over with a new farm. I pray God gives you all the grace you need, Christina.

Christina- I am so glad to hear how you are doing. Your reliance on God and His perfect provision through out all of this has been so truly amazing. Thank you for being willing to be open and vulnerable.

We will continue to pray for you and the children.

Glad for the update. Sounds like a huge challenge starting another farm. In Christ alone...

Glad Christina and the children are okay. If anybody has the strength to start again with her children it is Christina. Her faith is awesome and incredibly humbling. I look forward to reading her blog soon. Praying for her and the children. Kaje xx
