Loudoun County Women's Self-Defense Workshop
Just received this notice - already called in my daughters' and my registration:
The Loudoun Sheriff’s Office will hold their 28th Women’s Self-Defense Workshop on Tuesday, April 29, 2008.The class is open to all female residents of Loudoun County over the age of fourteen. Participants will be taught basic self-defense techniques through instruction, demonstration and actual practice of the methods taught. “The workshop is a free session whose purpose is to educate women on sexual assault issues and rape awareness,†said Sheriff Steve Simpson. Participants are asked to wear gym style clothing and athletic shoes.
The session will be held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. The academy is located at 45299 Research Place in Ashburn, VA.
