    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool
  • A Chair for My Mother
    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Speaking with parents of special needs kids Thursday 4/24

I will be speaking to a small group of parents at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Clifton, Virginia

This is a new group started by Catholic parents of children with special needs. Betty wrote me last week:

We have a name for the group, now: Caritas Christi (Love of Christ in Latin). I love the name because it expresses that the special needs child is a gift of God's love to each family, and also that the child's own love expresses the love of God within the family, and that by living out the vocation of raising a child with special needs the parents themselves will grow in the love of Christ through grace! We have now had 2 meetings, and although the turnout hasn't been large, the meetings have been beautiful, grace-filled & encouraging. We have been spreading the word about your coming, and are hoping for a good turnout and are very encouraged by the interest your coming has generated!

Any parents of children with special needs are invited to attend. Please email me if you are coming so I can look forward to seeing you.

Love,
