The BEST jigsaw puzzles
Someone ordered this through my amazon link (thank you!) and it reminded me how much I love this puzzle of Washington,DC:
Amazon's description is right on the money:
This superb, up-to-the-minute overview of Washington, DC pinpoints all the city's famous monuments and historic buildings and is filled with fascinating facts. You'll be an expert on the history of our nation's capitol when you put the last puzzle piece in place.
And though it's 1000 pieces, it's such a logically laid-out puzzle it feels more like a 500-piece. The kids and I loved putting this one together - and I recommend it for any family who is going to visit or has recently visited Washington. These are well-made puzzles from a reliable company.
I also love the White Mountain Civil War puzzle:
and the United States:
In fact, White Mountain has a whole series of 1000-piece puzzles that includes the American Revolution, U. S. Presidents, Trees of North America, Birds of the Backyard, Great Events of the Bible and many more.
If your family has never gotten into puzzles, they are really a great way to encourage family togetherness. Just keep one out for everyone to work on in their spare time. Jigsaw puzzles can teach logic, encourage concentration, and - especially in the case of White Mountain puzzles - be a fun way to spend time learning and memorizing facts.

Thanks for the great tips. Our oldest grandson,11, is hooked on puzzles and we want to encourage what can be a lifelong love that combines learning and fun. His mom got him a set of the 7 wonders of the world for Christmas and the Great Wall of China was his favorite.

Wow!
We LOVE puzzles! After I read that post I hopped right on over to Amazon and bought the Civil War puzzle for my husband's birthday. He's going to love it.
I have a HUGE foam puzzle of the US that someone gave us years ago and it has been used over and over by my kinetic learners in their Geography lessons.
Something about holding those states and putting them in the right place just sticks.
Thanks Barbara!
